Intermarine UK is led by a proficient board and management team, each bringing diverse expertise from naval, marine, defence, infrastructure, finance, and international workforce sectors. This collective knowledge informs the Group’s strategic direction, governance, and long-term growth in these essential industries.
Slawomir T. Kalicki
Slawomir is a highly experienced maritime professional, who began his professional journey in 1986 after graduating from the Gdynia Maritime Academy. Soon after, he founded Inter Marine Sp. z o.o. where he directed group activities. This has included the establishment of shipping and container services, import and export companies, the handling of maritime logistics for complex cargoes and management of crewing requirements across different vessels. Slawomir’s professional interests are focused on delivering long-term value; making and driving innovative solutions across the industry.
An integral part of the Polish Maritime community, Slawomir holds multiple Chairman and dignitary positions:
- The Maritime Economy Forum Gdynia (2001 – present);
- The Council of the Maritime Institute GMU (2021, – present);
- The Gdynia Maritime University Council (2025 – present).
- Honorary Consul of Malta to Poland (2012 – present)
Nick Mansell
Nick is the Chief Executive Officer of Intermarine UK, having joined the organisation in 2021. He has a background in Naval Architecture and is passionate about complex project delivery. Notably, Nick has extensive experience working across multiple infrastructure sectors in the UK including Shipbuilding, Rail, Nuclear and Offshore Wind.
Throughout 2024, Nick developed Intermarine UK’s activities into a range of organisations under the banner of Intermarine UK Group Holdings, focused upon delivering the best outcomes for employees and clients.
A strong proponent of the unique ability of business to support communities and change lives for the better, Nick is a charity Trustee supporting both The Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe, London and GOVAN H.E.L.P (Home and Education Link Project), helping to drive future strategy plans whilst drawing upon his business networks to support development.
Ric Elkington
Ric is the Managing Director of Intermarine UK and a seasoned naval professional with over 35 years of expertise in defence, manufacturing, and shipbuilding. A Royal Navy veteran, his distinguished 21-year career included five years in the Fleet Air Arm and 16 years as a Warfare Officer and Capability Manager, where he honed his leadership and strategic acumen.
Since transitioning to industry in 2008, Ric has held key leadership roles, including a decade at BAE Systems and five years as Managing Director and Group Managing Director of a defence technology manufacturing group.
His extensive experience and proven track record make him a respected figure in the defence and maritime sectors.
